COLEGIO REAL DE PANAMÁ

Since 1997

"Opening the doors to knowledge"

In 1996, a group of young education professionals came together with the intention of realizing a dream: to offer an educational alternative that provided not only a solid academic foundation, but also fostered emotional development and instilled civic and moral values — values that take root only through example. This vision was directed toward families who recognized the importance of bilingual education and valued active parental involvement in the holistic development of their children.

This new educational proposal also embraced children with special educational needs, offering them the opportunity to integrate into a society that needs them and empowering them to become self-sufficient individuals.

In 1997, the Ministry of Education granted authorization to begin operations after reviewing and approving the new educational proposal. In August of that same year, Colegio Real de Panamá opened its doors, transforming what had once been a dream into reality.

In March 1998, this educational journey formally began with 30 students: 16 in Pre-Kindergarten and 14 in Kindergarten. We remain deeply grateful to these students and their families for their trust and belief in this project.

Enrollment steadily increased year after year, and the academic excellence, civic responsibility, and moral values instilled in our students became evident, strengthening the sense of belonging to this great school family.

In 2002, despite a challenging national economic climate, the opportunity arose to acquire the land that today houses the facilities of Colegio Real de Panamá, allowing for the development of an enhanced teaching and learning environment.

In 2003, a groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of the first construction phase, which included administrative offices, preschool facilities, two classroom modules with six classrooms each, and a small school store.

The 2004 academic year began in the new and modern facilities, filled with pride for having accomplished what once began as a dream.

In 2005, construction of the second phase began. This phase included the parking area, a library building, computer lab, art room, support room, science laboratory, basketball court, and a natural grass soccer field.

The third construction phase began in 2007, adding two additional modules of six classrooms each. With this expansion, the school completed a total of twelve classrooms — six designated for elementary school on the ground floor and six for middle and high school.

The first graduating class celebrated commencement in 2010 — a deeply emotional milestone after 13 years of growth and academic formation. Since then, each graduating class has continued this tradition of excellence.

Our graduates have brought honor to Colegio Real de Panamá, earning acceptance into leading universities in Panama, Latin America, the United States and Europe.

Members of our school community have had the privilege of witnessing these students grow from children into accomplished young adults, prepared to achieve the goals they set for themselves.

That same year, construction of the gymnasium was completed, opening at the beginning of the 2011 academic year.

Between 2011 and 2014, significant investments were made, including the expansion of the school store, renovation of the preschool playground, acquisition of new educational technology, remodeling of the store’s access area, and construction of a synthetic soccer field.

From 2015 to 2019, the Physics laboratory was fully equipped, facilities were renovated, academic programs were updated, and new technologies and educational platforms were incorporated.

The year 2020 marked a pivotal moment in global education. Thanks to the continuous professional development of our faculty and our strong technological infrastructure, Colegio Real de Panamá was able to transition in record time to high-quality virtual education. That year, we graduated a class whose valedictorian earned a scholarship to the prestigious UCLA.

We continue to strengthen our curriculum through ongoing faculty training, strategic partnerships with international programs and universities, and the incorporation of innovative academic and socio-emotional platforms. We remain committed to delivering a high-quality education that promotes critical thinking, in-depth analysis, and effective communication, while developing essential skills for intellectual and personal growth.

Looking ahead, several future projects will further enhance our academic offerings. We remain dedicated to embracing the latest educational trends while preserving the ethical and moral values upon which this great dream was founded.
