Private Catholic Bilingual School CEEB Code: 882201 Director: Beatriz Noriega Royal College of Panama is a private Catholic bilingual school with an enrollment of 750 students in grades Pre-K through 12. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 27 students to foster a more effective learning environment. The school opened its doors in 1998 and graduated its first class in December 2010. It is officially approved by the Ministry of Education of Panama and is a member of the College Board. Our school year runs from early March to mid-December. For over 25 years, Royal College of Panama (CRP) has been providing students with a high-quality education, preparing our graduates to continue their studies in Panama or abroad. Teachers are drawn to CRP by its modern, dynamic, and effective educational philosophy. We strive to become a model school for Panama and the world. Our comprehensive and balanced curriculum focuses on skills and develops students' critical thinking and analytical abilities, their capacity to communicate ideas effectively, teamwork, and values. The Early Years program is designed to support the social, emotional, and physical development of each child in an academically stimulating environment. We view the child as a strong, powerful being, capable of becoming an active participant in their own learning process. The Elementary School curriculum places special emphasis on developing communicative skills in both English and Spanish, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The academic program also includes mathematics, science, social studies, music, art, physical education, and computer science. Our Middle School serves as a bridge between Elementary and High School, with a responsive and well-developed program that includes a counselor dedicated exclusively to middle school students. The Royal College of Panama recognizes that the middle grades are essential building blocks for successful academic performance in high school and university. With this in mind, the middle school curriculum solidifies the support structures and responsive practices that help students during this critical period of development, when they reach their full potential. The middle school program is divided into three main areas: Humanities: In this area, we focus on subjects that foster the development of values, ideas, interpretations, and life skills, both spiritually and socially. It includes the following subjects: Spanish, English, History, World History, Human Geography, Economic and Political Geography, Philosophy, Logic, Ethics and Values, Civics, Fine Arts, Psychology, and English and Spanish Literature. Sciences: The subjects in this area lead to the development of foundational subjects applied to different fields of knowledge. These subjects are considered fundamental for the development of a graduate who aspires to pursue studies in any of the vast areas of the sciences. Subjects such as Trigonometry, Analytic Geometry, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Education, Research Methods, and Computer Science are included in our curriculum. Management: With the goal of developing successful entrepreneurs, we include this area of study as a complement to our comprehensive curriculum. Among the subjects we believe our graduates should be familiar with are Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, and Project Management. As this area is merely an emphasis and not a specialization, it represents only 10.68% of our Academic Curriculum. None of our courses are electives; all are offered as advanced courses, and all students are required to take and pass them in order to graduate. The grading is not weighted. In addition to our emphasis on academics, our educational ideal includes the fields of artistic and cultural expression. Activities such as plays, art exhibitions, talent shows, and more are an integral part of the CRP experience, where we appreciate and nurture the many talents of our students and encourage them to develop their full potential. Sports boost self-esteem and mental awareness and should be an integral part of every school's life, balancing mental and physical growth. Therefore, at CRP, all students participate in different sports throughout the school year. Furthermore, we provide them with the training and opportunity to participate on our diverse teams, including soccer and basketball, all of which are highly recognized for their excellent performance in regional and international competitions. Our students are also encouraged to participate in community activities organized by the school. During their sophomore and junior years, students are required to participate in various community service programs that take them to extremely poor rural communities where they work with community members, repairing schools, growing vegetables, providing academic tutoring, and more. Other extracurricular activities include debate, science club, marching band, and folk dance. The CRP operates on a quarterly basis, with 60% being the minimum passing grade.

GPA is computed using all subjects whether passed or failed. In addition to the required credits, each student must complete an 80 hour community service graduation requirement.

Grades are recorded on the transcript, and grade point average is computed in December.
